Detergent compositions

A detergent composition for the non-oxidative laundering of fabric stains, the composition comprising:

• (a) from 0.1 to 10% (by weight based on the total weight of the composition) of one or more deferoxamines;
• and
• (b) from 15 to 80% (by weight based on the total weight of the composition) of one or more detersive surfactants;
• in which the one or more deferoxamines correspond to the general formula (I):
• in which m is 3, 4 or 5;
• n and o are each independently 4 or 5;
• p is 0 or 1;
• R1 is a monovalent group selected from H— and CH3CO— or together with R2 forms a divalent —CO(CH2)2CO— group;
• and R2 is a monovalent group selected from —H, —COCI-h and —CO(CH2)2COOH;
• or together with R1 forms a divalent —CO(CH2)2CO— group;
• and/or an acid addition salt thereof selected from hydrochlorides, sulfates, phosphates, nitrates, methanesulfonates (mesylates), ethanesulfonates, ammonium salts and alkali metal salts;
• in which the composition contains from 0 to 0.01% (by weight based on the total weight of the composition) of transition metal ions selected from Fe (III), Co (II), Co (III), Mn (II), Mn (III), Ce (III), Ce (IV), Zn (II) and Bi (III) and mixtures thereof;
• and in which the composition contains from 0 to 0.01% (by weight based on the total weight of the composition) of oxidising agents selected from halogen-based bleaches, oxygen-based bleaches and mixtures thereof.
