Providing service address space for diagnostics collection

A system, comprising:

• a service co-processor provided with a service address space, the service co-processor attached to a main processor wherein the main processor is provided with a main address space, wherein the service co-processor updates the service address space to create and maintain an independent copy of the main address space in the form of the service address space;
• and
• wherein the service co-processor is configured to:
• receive a system dump request from the main processor;
• initiate a system dump;
• responsive to initiating the system dump, cease updating the service address space;
• and
• upon completion of the system dump, reset the service address space.

A computer program product for providing service functions, the computer program product comprising:

• a non-transitory computer readable medium having computer readable program code embodied therewith, the computer readable program code executable by a service co-processor to:
• update a service address space provided to the service co-processor to create and maintain an independent copy of a main address space provided to a main processor in the form of the service address space;
• receive a system dump request from the main processor;
• initiate a system dump;
• responsive to initiating the system dump, cease updating the service address space;
• and
• upon completion of the system dump, reset the service address space.
