Abstract
The purpose of the invention is to develop and provide a novel therapeutic agent for hepatitis B that differs from the conventional therapeutic agent for hepatitis B in the mechanism of action, or target of interest. Provided is an inhibitor of hepatitis B virus replication consisting of a spike region in the core protein of a hepatitis B virus, or an expression vector containing a nucleic acid encoding the same.
Claims9
An inhibitor of hepatitis B virus replication consisting of any of the following (1) to (3):
- (1) a peptide fragment constituting a spike region in a core protein of a hepatitis B virus,
- (2) a peptide fragment in which any amino acid sequence different from said core protein is added to the N-terminus and/or C-terminus of said spike region, and
- (3) an expression vector comprising a nucleic acid encoding the peptide fragment according to said (1) or (2), and capable of expressing said peptide fragment in a cell.
An inhibitor of nucleocapsid formation of a hepatitis B virus, consisting of any of the following (1) to (3):
- (1) a peptide fragment constituting a spike region in a core protein of a hepatitis B virus,
- (2) a peptide fragment in which any amino acid sequence different from said core protein is added to the N-terminus and/or C-terminus of said spike region, and
- (3) an expression vector comprising a nucleic acid encoding the peptide fragment according to said (1) or (2), and capable of expressing said peptide fragment in a cell.
A method for inhibiting hepatitis B virus replication comprising a step of introducing into a host:
- (1) a peptide fragment constituting a spike region in a core protein of a hepatitis B virus,
- (2) a peptide fragment in which any amino acid sequence different from said core protein is added to the N-terminus and/or C-terminus of said spike region, or
- (3) an expression vector comprising a nucleic acid encoding the peptide fragment according to said (1) or (2), and capable of expressing said peptide fragment in a cell.
