Implant for heart valve

Apparatus, comprising:

• a first atrial arm configured to be implanted at a native heart valve of a heart of a patient, and to contact an atrial surface of a first native leaflet of the native heart valve;
• a first ventricular arm configured to be implanted at the native heart valve and to contact a ventricular surface of the first leaflet, the first atrial arm and the first ventricular arm being articulatable at a first articulation site, and movable with respect to each other to clamp the first leaflet between the first atrial arm and the first ventricular arm, such that when the first leaflet is clamped between the first atrial arm and the first ventricular arm, the first ventricular arm defines an opposite surface that faces away from the ventricular surface of the first leaflet;
• a first elongate transitioning member that:
• is connected to the first ventricular arm at a first fixed connection point that is at a portion of the first ventricular arm that is farthest from the first articulation site,
• has a portion that faces the opposite surface of the first ventricular arm, and
• is controllable to move the first ventricular arm;
• a second atrial arm configured to be implanted at the native heart valve, and to contact an atrial surface of a second native leaflet of the native heart valve;
• a second ventricular arm configured to be implanted at the native heart valve and to contact a ventricular surface of the second leaflet, the second atrial arm and the second ventricular arm being articulatable at a second articulation site, and movable with respect to each other to clamp the second leaflet between the second atrial arm and the second ventricular arm, such that when the second leaflet is clamped between the second atrial arm and the second ventricular arm, the second ventricular arm defines an opposite surface that faces away from the ventricular surface of the second leaflet;
• and
• a second elongate transitioning member that:
• is connected to the second ventricular arm at a second fixed connection point that is at a portion of the second ventricular arm that is farthest from the second articulation site,
• has a portion that faces the opposite surface of the second ventricular arm, and
• is controllable to move the second ventricular arm.
