Devices and methods for anatomic mapping for prosthetic implants

A method comprising:

• receiving anatomic imaging data representative of a portion of a patient's blood vessel, the blood vessel defining a centerline that is a sequence of points in three-dimensional space, the portion of the patient's blood vessel having a branch blood vessel extending from the portion of the patient's blood vessel;
• defining a first digital representation of the portion of the patient's blood vessel based on the anatomic imaging data, the first digital representation including data representative of a first configuration of an anatomic feature of the patient's blood vessel;
• modifying the first digital representation of the portion of the patient's blood vessel to generate a second digital representation of the portion of the patient's blood vessel, the second digital representation including data representative of a second configuration of the anatomic feature of the patient's blood vessel wherein a low-order polynomial function is fitted to the points using a least squares fitting technique to produce a modified centerline, the second configuration different than the first configuration;
• and
• generating a patient-specific prosthetic based on the second digital representation of the portion of the patient's blood vessel, the patient-specific prosthetic having a wall defining a lumen, the wall of the patient-specific prosthetic defining an aperture corresponding to a configuration of the branch blood vessel in the second digital representation.

A method comprising:

• receiving anatomic imaging data representative of a portion of a patient's aorta, the blood aorta defining a centerline that is a sequence of points in three-dimensional space, the portion of the patient's aorta having a first branch blood vessel extending from the aorta and a second branch blood vessel extending from the aorta;
• defining a first digital representation of the portion of the patient's aorta, the first branch blood vessel, and the second branch blood vessel based on the anatomic imaging data, the first digital representation including data representative of a first configuration of an anatomic feature of the patient's aorta;
• modifying the first digital representation of the portion of the patient's aorta to generate a second digital representation of the portion of the patient's aorta, the first branch blood vessel, and the second branch blood vessel, the second digital representation including data representative of a second configuration of the anatomic feature of the patient's aorta wherein a low-order polynomial function is fitted to the points using a least squares fitting technique to produce a modified centerline, the second configuration different than the first configuration;
• and
• generating a patient-specific prosthetic based on the second digital representation of the portion of the patient's aorta.

A method, comprising:

• receiving a digital representation of a portion of a patient's blood vessel, the blood vessel defining a centerline that is a sequence of points in three-dimensional space, the digital representation including data representative of a first configuration of an anatomic feature of the patient's blood vessel;
• modifying the data representative of the first configuration based on predicted deformation of the portion of the patient's blood vessel to determine a second configuration of the anatomic feature of the patient's blood vessel wherein a low-order polynomial function is fitted to the points using a least squares fitting technique to produce a modified centerline, the second configuration different than the first configuration;
• and
• generating a patient-specific prosthesis having a fenestration at the second configuration.

A method, comprising:

• receiving a digital representation of a portion of a patient's blood vessel, the blood vessel defining a centerline that is a sequence of points in three-dimensional space, the digital representation including data representative of a first configuration of an anatomic feature of the patient's blood vessel;
• modifying the data representative of the first configuration based on predicted change in position of the portion of the patient's blood vessel to determine a second configuration of the anatomic feature of the patient's blood vessel wherein a low-order polynomial function is fitted to the points using a least squares fitting technique to produce a modified centerline, the second configuration different than the first configuration;
• and
• generating a patient-specific prosthesis having a fenestration at the second configuration.

A non-transitory computer readable storage medium encoded with processor-executable instruction that, when executed by a processor, performs a method for customizing a patient-specific prosthesis, the method comprising:

• receiving, at the processor, a digital representation of the portion of the patient's blood vessel, the blood vessel defining a centerline that is a sequence of points in three-dimensional space, the digital representation including data representative of a first configuration of an anatomic feature of the patient's blood vessel;
• modifying the data representative of the first configuration to predict a change of the portion of the patient's blood vessel;
• automatically determining a second configuration of the anatomic feature of the patient's blood vessel based on the modified data wherein a low-order polynomial function is fitted to the points using a least squares fitting technique to produce a modified centerline, the second configuration different than the first configuration;
• and
• providing data representative of the second configuration of the anatomic feature.
