Abstract
An image decoding method according to the present invention comprises the steps of: deriving most probable mode (MPM) candidates on the basis of an intra-prediction mode of candidate blocks; determining whether the MPM candidate having the intra-prediction mode, which is the same as that of a current block, exists among MPM candidates; and deriving the intra-prediction mode of the current block on the basis of the determination, wherein the candidate block includes a neighboring block which is adjacent to the current block, and a non-neighboring block which is not adjacent to the current block.
Claims15
A method of decoding an image, the method comprising:
- deriving Most Probable Mode (MPM) candidates based on intra prediction modes of candidate blocks, wherein the candidate blocks include a neighboring block adjacent to a current block and a non-neighboring block not adjacent to the current block;
- determining whether an MPM candidate identical to an intra prediction mode of the current block exists among the MPM candidates;
- and
- deriving the intra prediction mode of the current block based on the determination.
A method of encoding an image, the method comprising:
- deriving Most Probable Mode (MPM) candidates based on intra prediction modes of candidate blocks, wherein the candidate blocks include a neighboring block adjacent to a current block and a non-neighboring block not adjacent to the current block;
- determining whether an MPM candidate identical to an intra prediction mode of the current block exists among the MPM candidates;
- and
- deriving the intra prediction mode of the current block based on the determination.
An apparatus for decoding an image, the apparatus comprising:
- an intra prediction unit to derive Most Probable Mode (MPM) candidates based on intra prediction modes of candidate blocks, determine whether an MPM candidate identical to an intra prediction mode of the current block exists among the MPM candidates, and derive the intra prediction mode of the current block based on the determination,
- wherein the candidate blocks include a neighboring block adjacent to a current block and a non-neighboring block not adjacent to the current block.
