Systems and methods for synchronizing eyewear devices with displays

A method comprising:

• capturing, via an optical device, a scene within a field of view of a lens;
• analyzing, by a controller, the scene to determine that display content of a display device is within the field of view of the lens;
• receiving, by a communication device, wireless synchronization information for the display content;
• selectively allowing, in response to determining that the display content is within the field of view of the lens, the display content to pass through the lens based on the wireless synchronization information;
• displaying additional content with an internal display of the optical device;
• and
• coordinating the additional content from the internal display with the display content from the display device.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising computer-readable instructions that, when executed by at least one processor of a computing device, cause the computing device to:

• capture, via an optical device, a scene within a field of view of a lens;
• analyze, by a controller, the scene to determine that display content of a display device is within the field of view of the lens;
• receive, by a communication device, wireless synchronization information for display content;
• selectively allow, in response to determining that the display content is within the field of view of the lens, the display content to pass through the lens based on the wireless synchronization information;
• display additional content with an internal display of the optical device;
• and
• coordinate the additional content from the internal display with the display content from the display device.
