Apparatus and method for performing measurement

A user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system, the UE comprising:

• at least one transceiver;
• and
• at least one processor operably coupled to the at least one transceiver, wherein the at least one processor is configured to:
• receive, from a base station, measurement configuration information for a measurement object through a radio resource control (RRC) signaling, wherein the measurement configuration information includes:
• information on a duration of a measurement interval for one or more reference signals,
• information on a periodicity and a time offset of the measurement interval,
• information on a frequency channel number for the one or more reference signals,
• information on a pattern for indicating at least one reference signal among the one or more reference signals,
• receive the at least one reference signal based on the measurement configuration information.

A method performed by a base station in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

• transmitting, to a user equipment (UE), measurement configuration information for a measurement object through a radio resource control (RRC) signaling, wherein the measurement configuration information includes:
• information on a duration of a measurement interval for one or more reference signals,
• information on a periodicity and a time offset of the measurement interval,
• information on a frequency channel number for the one or more reference signals,
• information on a pattern for indicating at least one reference signal among the one or more reference signals,
• wherein the at least one reference signal is received at the UE based on the measurement configuration information.

A base station in a wireless communication system, the base station comprising:

• at least one transceiver;
• and
• at least one processor operably coupled to the at least one transceiver, wherein the at least one processor is configured to:
• transmit, to a user equipment (UE), measurement configuration information for a measurement object through a radio resource control (RRC) signaling, wherein the measurement configuration information includes:
• information on a duration of a measurement interval for one or more reference signals,
• information on a periodicity and a time offset of the measurement interval,
• information on a frequency channel number for the one or more reference signals,
• information on a pattern for indicating at least one reference signal among the one or more reference signals,
• wherein the at least one reference signal is received at the UE based on the measurement configuration information.
