Authorized wireless charging methods and apparatus

A device charging system comprising:

• a plurality of ultrawide band (UWB) beacons disposed in known geographic locations within a region, wherein each UWB beacon of the plurality of UWB beacons are configured to receive a plurality of signals from a UWB emitting device, wherein each UWB beacon is configured to determine a unique timestamp associated with each of the plurality of signals from the UWB emitting device;
• a processing unit coupled to the plurality of UWB beacons, wherein the processing unit is configured to receive unique timestamps associated with the plurality of signals for each UWB beacon, wherein the processing unit is configured to determine a plurality of three-dimensional positions of the UWB emitting device within the region in response to the known geographic locations of the plurality of UWB beacons and in response to the unique timestamps;
• and
• a power unit coupled to the processing unit, wherein the power unit is configured to direct an energy power signal to the UWB emitting device in response to the plurality of three-dimensional positions of the UWB emitting device within the region, wherein the plurality of three-dimensional positions have different x, y and z positions.
