Systems and methods for direct electronic communication of consumer information

A method of submission of payment transaction requests from a point of sale (POS) terminal to a transaction server of a financial institution, the method comprising:

• reading a payment vehicle certificate from a payment vehicle by way of a payment device connected to a point of sale (POS) terminal;
• generating, using an authentication service, a payment vehicle certificate validation of the payment vehicle certificate;
• and
• submitting a payment transaction request to the transaction server of the financial institution over a computer network using financial institution routing information, a POS terminal certificate, and the payment vehicle certificate.

A computer system for submission of payment transaction requests from a point of sale (POS) terminal to a transaction server of a financial institution, the system comprising:

• a memory having processor-readable instructions stored therein;
• and
• a processor configured to access the memory and execute the processor-readable instructions, which when executed by the processor configures the processor to perform a plurality of functions, including functions to:
• read a payment vehicle certificate from a payment vehicle by way of a payment device connected to a point of sale (POS) terminal;
• generate, using an authentication service, a payment vehicle certificate validation of the payment vehicle certificate;
• and
• submit a payment transaction request to the transaction server of the financial institution over a computer network using financial institution routing information, a POS terminal certificate, and the payment vehicle certificate.

A non-transitory machine-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by a computing system, causes the computing system to perform a method for submission of payment transaction requests from a point of sale (POS) terminal to a transaction server of a financial institution, the method including:

• reading a payment vehicle certificate from a payment vehicle by way of a payment device connected to a point of sale (POS) terminal;
• generating, using an authentication service, a payment vehicle certificate validation of the payment vehicle certificate;
• and
• submitting a payment transaction request to the transaction server of the financial institution over a computer network using financial institution routing information, a POS terminal certificate, and the payment vehicle certificate.
