Abstract
An optical device including a substrate; an optical coating including materials that absorb light in an ultraviolet wavelength and reduces an amount of the light reflected from the optical coating; and an organic functional coating is disclosed. A method of making an optical device a method of increasing durability to ultraviolet light exposure in an optical device are also disclosed.

An optical device comprising:
- a substrate;
- an optical coating including materials that absorb light in an ultraviolet wavelength and reduce an amount of the ultraviolet light reflected from the optical coating;
- and
- an organic functional coating.

A method of making an optical device, comprising:
- applying onto a substrate an optical coating including materials that absorb light in an ultraviolet wavelength and reduces an amount of the light reflected from the optical coating;
- and
- applying onto the optical coating an organic functional coating.
A method of increasing durability to ultraviolet light exposure in an optical device, comprising:
- applying onto a substrate an optical coating including materials that absorb light in an ultraviolet wavelength and reduces an amount of the light reflected from the optical coating;
- and
- applying onto the optical coating an organic functional coating to form the optical device,
- wherein the optical device exhibits increased durability as compared to an optical device that does not include materials that absorb light in an ultraviolet wavelength and reduces an amount of the light reflected from the optical coating.
