Abstract
The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for cleaning outside or inside air that is polluted by solid particles. The method comprises a specific sequence of measures for promoting agglomeration and/or coagulation of the particles, including ionization, followed by a series of filtrations. This lead to a surprising removal of ultra-fine particles of 1-100 μm with a great efficiency. The invention includes an apparatus for the application of the method.

A method for the removal of solid particles from air the method comprising:
- blowing the air through a channel in which particles in the air are ionized;
- slowing down the air speed;
- filtering the air with a filter;
- blowing the air that was filtered by the filter through an electrically charged filter unit that comprises one or more filters from classes G1, G2 or G3,
- wherein the air that was filtered by the electrically charged filter unit is subsequently forced to flow to and through a class U15 filter.
