This disclosure relates for example to meat alternative compositions comprising a plant based meat alternative and a cranberry seed preparation. This disclosure is also related to methods of preparing such meat alternative compositions.

A meat alternative composition comprising:
- a plant based meat alternative comprising:
- a binder at about 0.1% to about 14% dry weight of the total meat alternative composition, and
- a fat source at about 0.1% to about 25% dry weight of the total meat alternative composition;
- and
- a cranberry seed preparation at about 4% to about 42% dry weight of the total meat alternative composition.

- a non-heme-comprising meat alternative comprising:

A method of preparing a meat alternative composition, the method comprising:
- providing a meat alternative, and
