Abstract
Systems and methods for treating cancer and for preventing metastasis using low intensity focused ultrasound in combination with an anti-cancer therapy are disclosed.

A method for priming a subject having a tumor for a chemotherapeutic agent, the method comprising:
- a. applying a low intensity focused ultrasound (LOFU) comprising at least two ultrasound beams to a treatment zone in the subject, wherein the at least two ultrasound beams have different frequencies;
- and
- b. administering the chemotherapeutic agent to the subject, wherein the chemotherapeutic agent comprises a heat shock protein 90 (HSP90) inhibitor.
