Request processing method, system on chip, and public cloud management component

A method for starting an operating system on a bare metal server in a cloud storage system, comprising:

• receiving, by a system on chip of the bare-metal server, a first volume mounting request for mounting a system volume from a public cloud management component, the first volume mounting request indicating identification information of the system volume, wherein the system volume comprises a file of the operating system;
• mounting, by the system on chip, the system volume by identifying the remote cloud disk based on the identification information of the system volume;
• and
• starting, by a processor of the bare-metal server, the operating system by means of the system on chip accessing the system volume, wherein the system on chip and the processor communicate through a Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCIe) connection.

A bare-metal server comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• a system on chip communicating with the processor through a Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCIe) connection;
• wherein the system on chip is configured to:
• receive a first volume mounting request for mounting a system volume from a public cloud management component, the first volume mounting request indicating identification information of the system volume, wherein the system volume comprises a file of an operating system for the bare metal server;
• and
• mount the system volume by identifying the remote cloud disk based on the identification information of the system volume;
• and
• the processor is configured to:
• start the operating system by means of the system on chip accessing the system volume.
