Selective location-based identity communication

A system comprising:

• a memory that stores instructions;
• and
• one or more processors configured by the instructions to perform operations comprising:
• identifying, by one or more processors, a current location of a mobile computing device;
• determining, based on historical location data, that the current location of the mobile computing device is within a predetermined distance from a historical location associated with one or more specified time periods;
• in response to the determination, automatically changing a first display characteristic representing the current location to a second display characteristic by modifying the first display characteristic with a second display characteristic;
• detecting a subsequent location of the mobile computing device, the subsequent location of the mobile computing device being at least the predetermined distance away from the historical location;
• and
• in response to detecting the subsequent location, automatically modifying the second display characteristic corresponding to the current location of the mobile computing device by reverting the second display characteristic to the first display characteristic.

A non-transitory processor-readable storage medium storing processor-executable instructions that, when executed by a processor of a machine, cause the machine to perform operations comprising:

• identifying, by one or more processors, a current location of a mobile computing device;
• determining, based on historical location data, that the current location of the mobile computing device is within a predetermined distance from a historical location associated with one or more specified time periods;
• in response to the determination, automatically changing a first display characteristic representing the current location to a second display characteristic by modifying the first display characteristic with a second display characteristic;
• detecting a subsequent location of the mobile computing device, the subsequent location of the mobile computing device being at least the predetermined distance away from the historical location;
• and
• in response to detecting the subsequent location, automatically modifying the second display characteristic corresponding to the current location of the mobile computing device by reverting the second display characteristic to the first display characteristic.
