A reception device, comprising:

• receiving circuitry configured to receive a broadcast signal having a video stream and resolution information, the video stream including encoded image data and auxiliary information for a spatial resolution of the encoded image data;
• and
• processing circuitry configured to
• process identifying information for a super-high-resolution service,
• apply processing for the spatial super-high resolution to the encoded image data based on the auxiliary information, and
• obtain display image data for display,
• wherein the identifying information is included in a layer of the broadcast signal, such that the super-high-resolution service by the video stream can be identified at least per program basis.

A receiving method, comprising:

• receiving a broadcast signal having a video stream and resolution information, the video stream including encoded image data and auxiliary information for a spatial resolution of the encoded image data;
• and
• in a case that identifying information indicates a super-high-resolution service,
• applying processing for the spatial super-high resolution to the encoded image data based on the auxiliary information, and
• obtaining display image data for display,
• wherein the identifying information is included in a layer of the broadcast signal, such that a super-high-resolution service by the video stream can be identified at least per program basis.
