Approaches for managing data retention lifecycle

A computer-implemented method, the method comprising:

• determining an authorization level of a user that is accessing data objects;
• determining a set of data objects accessible to the user based on the authorization level of the user, the set of data objects organized based on attributes associated with the set of data objects;
• —determining actions to be performed on the set of the data objects based on states associated with the set of data objects, the states specifying a deletion or retention and a schedule to perform the actions;
• displaying the actions to the user through an interface;
• and
• providing, through the interface, options for the user to modify the actions.

A non-transitory computer readable medium comprising instructions that, when executed, cause one or more processors to perform:

• determining an authorization level of an entity accessing data objects;
• determining a set of data objects accessible to the entity based on the authorization level of the entity, the set of data objects organized based on attributes associated with the set of data objects;
• determining actions to be performed on the set of the data objects based on states associated with the set of data objects, the states specifying a deletion or retention and a schedule to perform the actions;
• displaying the actions to the entity through an interface;
• and
• providing, through the interface, options for the entity to modify the actions.
