Building management system for effective rescuing during fire evacuation

A method for generating a thermal profile of a building comprising at least one elevator and at least one corresponding counterweight within a hoistway, the method being implemented by a system comprising a facility management subsystem and one or more detection devices, the method comprising:

• in response to receiving an alarm:
• causing, by the facility management subsystem, the at least one elevator to automatically travel to one or more floors of the building, and
• instructing, by the facility management subsystem, the one or more detection devices to collect one or more images of one or more elevator lobbies of the building or the hoistway with respect to the at least one elevator automatically traveling to the one or more floors;
• and
• generating, by the facility management subsystem, a thermal profile based on the one or more images.
