Vehicle battery securing systems and methods

A method for installing a battery in a micro-mobility transit vehicle, the method comprising:

• inserting a mechanical interface extending from a battery into a receiving interface defined in a battery compartment of the micro-mobility transit vehicle;
• placing the battery into the battery compartment;
• rotating a battery compartment door to a closed position;
• and
• securing, electromechanically, the battery compartment door in the closed position and the battery in the battery compartment.

A battery compartment for a micro-mobility transit vehicle comprising:

• a container disposed within the micro-mobility transit vehicle and configured to receive a battery;
• and
• a battery compartment door to cover the container, wherein the battery compartment door comprises:
• a first end configured to hingedly couple to a frame of the micro-mobility transit vehicle;
• a second end comprising at least one pair of prongs extending from the second end and at least one breakaway tab physically coupled to each pair of prongs;
• and
• a floorboard surface for the micro-mobility transit vehicle extending between the first end and the second end.
