Air conditioner

An air conditioner, comprising:

• a first unit configured to circulate a first fluid;
• a second unit configured to circulate a second fluid;
• a heat exchanger provided between the first and second units and configured to perform heat exchange between the first and second fluids;
• a valve provided between the heat exchanger and the first unit, the valve having a first port connected the first unit via a first pipe, a second port connected to the heat exchanger via a second pipe, and a third port connected to the first unit via a third pipe;
• a bypass pipe connecting the first and second pipes at a position between the first unit and the heat exchanger;
• a bypass valve provided in the bypass pipe;
• and
• a capillary tube provided in the bypass pipe to expand the first fluid.

An air conditioner, comprising:

• an outdoor unit provided in an outdoor space and configured to perform a refrigeration cycle of a refrigerant, the outdoor unit having an outdoor heat exchanger to allow refrigerant to exchange heat with air of the outdoor space;
• an indoor unit provided in an indoor space and configured to circulate water, the indoor unit having an indoor heat exchanger to allow water to exchange heat with air of the indoor space;
• an intermediate heat exchanger connected to the outdoor unit and the indoor unit and configured to allow heat exchange between the refrigerant and the water;
• a high-pressure pipe coupling the outdoor unit to the intermediate heat exchanger and through which high-pressure refrigerant flows;
• a low-pressure pipe coupling the outdoor unit to the intermediate heat exchanger and through which low-pressure refrigerant flows;
• a bypass pipe coupling the high-pressure pipe to the low-pressure pipe and having a valve such that, when the valve is opened, refrigerant flows from the high-pressure pipe to the low-pressure pipe due to a pressure difference.
