Actuation valve system with pilot and main valves

A system for use in a borehole, comprising:

• a tool having one or more selectively actuatable components;
• and
• a valve system controlling selective actuation of the one or more selectively actuatable components, the valve system including:
• a pilot valve;
• and
• a main valve shiftable between an open flow position and a restricted flow position in response to changes in fluid flow from the pilot valve, the main valve including:
• a body defining a shuttle passage;
• a fluid inlet arranged to receive fluid flow from the pilot valve;
• and
• a springless shuttle within the shuttle passage and movable therein, the springless shuttle having opposing first and second sides with a shuttle flow passage extending therebetween, a first surface area of the first side arranged to be acted on by fluid entering the shuttle flow passage and a second surface area of the second side arranged to be acted on by fluid exiting the shuttle flow passage, the first surface area being different than the second surface area.
