Abstract
A system includes reception of a plurality of original floating point values, rounding of each of the plurality of original floating point values to a respective rounded floating point value, where each rounded floating point value is within an error bound of its respective original floating point value, compression of the plurality of rounded floating point values, and storage of the plurality of compressed rounded floating point values in the data storage system.

A system comprising:
- a memory storing processor-executable program code;
- and
- a processing unit to execute the processor-executable program code in order to cause the system to:
- receive a plurality of original floating point values;
- round each of the plurality of original floating point values to a respective rounded floating point value, where each rounded floating point value is within a prespecified error bound of its respective original floating point value;
- and
- compress the plurality of rounded floating point values.

- receiving a plurality of original floating point values;
- receiving an error bound;
- rounding each of the plurality of original floating point values to a respective rounded floating point value, where each rounded floating point value is within the error bound of its respective original floating point value;

- storing the plurality of rounded floating point values in a compressed format.
