Apparatus for determining an authenticated location of an asset with a global resource locator

A method of tracking a physical asset, comprising:

• associating a global resource locator (GRL) device with a physical asset;
• calculating, via the GRL device, a first location of the GRL device at a first time based on a miniature atomic clock (MAC);
• determining, via the GRL device, that the first location is within a particular geofence;
• calculating, via the GRL device, a second location of the GRL device at a second time based on the MAC;
• determining, via the GRL device, that the second location is outside of the particular geofence;
• and
• generating, via the GRL device, an event indicating the physical asset has crossed a border of the particular geofence based on the second location being outside of the particular geofence.

A global resource locator (GRL) device for tracking a physical asset, comprising:

• a miniature atomic clock (MAC);
• and
• a processor communicatively coupled to the MAC, the processor being configured to:
• calculate a first location of the GRL device at a first time based on the MAC;
• determine that the first location is outside of a particular geofence;
• calculate a second location of the GRL device at a second time based on the MAC;
• determine that the second location is within the particular geofence;
• and
• generate an event indicating the GRL device has crossed a border into the particular geofence based on the second location being inside of the particular geofence.

A method of tracking a physical asset, comprising:

• associating a global resource locator (GRL) device to a physical asset;
• calculating, via the GRL device, a first location of the GRL device at a first time based on a miniature atomic clock (MAC);
• determining, via the GRL device, that the first location is outside of a particular geofence;
• calculating, via the GRL device, a second location of the GRL device at a second time based on the MAC;
• determining, via the GRL device, that the second location is within the particular geofence;
• and
• generating an event indicating the physical asset has crossed a border into the particular geofence based on the second location being inside of the particular geofence.
