Abstract
The present invention provides a method for avoiding knocking in an internal combustions engine, preferably in a gasoline engine with a high compression ratio and a variable valve train which is able to perform EIVC, by injecting a non-combustible fluid into the intake port and/or in the cylinder during a transient operating mode.
Claims16
Method for controlling an internal combustion engine with at least one cylinder at least one non-combustible fluid injector configured to inject a non-combustible fluid into the internal combustion engine and at least one controller,
- comprising controlling the injection device to inject the non-combustible fluid into the internal combustion engine when the internal combustion engine operates in a transient operating mode.
