Abstract
Processes for producing a disubstituted oxalate are disclosed. The process includes contacting a cesium salt with one or more alcohols and carbon dioxide (CO2) under reaction conditions sufficient to produce a composition comprising a disubstituted oxalate.
Claims18
A process for preparing cesium oxalate (Cs2C2O4), the process comprising:
- (a) contacting carbon dioxide (CO2) and hydrogen (H2) with cesium carbonate (Cs2CO3);
- or
- (b) contacting carbon monoxide (CO) and oxygen (O2) with cesium carbonate Cs2CO3, under reaction conditions sufficient to form a composition comprising Cs2C2O4.
