Abstract
A vehicle light module, a headlight assembly, and a method for communicating information at a panel having transparent and opaque states; a projector device projects visual representations toward the panel where visual representations are displayed on the panel when in an opaque state and through the panel when in a transparent state.
Claims20
A vehicle light module comprising:
- a panel having a transparent state and an opaque state, wherein the panel represents a dual projection film or screen;
- and
- a projector operable to project a visual representation toward the panel;
- said module further comprising a controller that is configured to change an operation state of the panel between the transparent state and the opaque state,
- wherein the controller is configured to activate a power supply to the panel when in the transparent state and deactivate the power supply when in the opaque state, and
- wherein the projector is configured to project the visual representation on the panel when in the opaque state and is configured to project another visual representation through the panel when in the transparent state.

A headlight assembly, comprising:
- a number of vehicle light modules, where each of the vehicle light modules include a panel having a transparent state and an opaque state, wherein each panel represents a dual projection film or screen;
- a projector media system operable to project a number of visual representations or visual information toward each respective panel, wherein said visual representation or information is displayed on each respective panel during an opaque state and displays another visual representation or information through each associated panel when in a transparent state;
- said assembly further comprises a controller that changes an operation state of each respective panel between the transparent and opaque states, and
- wherein the projector media system is configured to project said visual representations or information on each respective panel when in the opaque state and is configured to project another visual representation or information through each associated panel when in the transparent state.

A method of communicating information via a vehicle light module, the method comprising:
- receiving at least one visual representation at said vehicle light module;
- and
- projecting the at least one visual representation toward a panel comprising a dual projection film or screen having a transparent state and an opaque state, wherein the at least one visual representation is displayed on the panel when in an opaque state and another visual representation is displayed through the panel when in a transparent state.
