Abstract
A vacuum circuit breaker comprising a vacuum interrupter and an actuator coupled to the vacuum interrupter. The vacuum interrupter and actuator are located in a vacuum chamber that is partitioned into first and second vacuum sub-chambers. The vacuum interrupter is located in the first sub-chamber and the actuator is located in the second sub-chamber.
Claims19
A vacuum circuit breaker comprising:
- a housing providing a vacuum chamber;
- a vacuum interrupter having a movable first contact and a second contact;
- and
- an actuator coupled to the vacuum interrupter to move said first contact from at least one from the group consisting of into and out of engagement with said second contact,
- where said vacuum interrupter and said actuator are located in said vacuum chamber,
- and where said vacuum chamber is partitioned into first and second sub-chambers by a partition, each of said first and second sub-chambers being in vacuum in use,
- and where said first and second contacts are located in said first sub-chamber and said actuator is located in said second sub-chamber.
