Abstract

This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to multiple access points (APs) diversity. A device may acquire, by a first AP of the set of coordinated APs, a communications channel to send data to a first station device. The device may request, by a second AP of the set of coordinated APs, access to the communications channel to send a first frame of a dataset to a second station device. The device may determine, by the second AP of the set of coordinated APs, that the communications channel is busy. The device may determine, by a third AP of the set of coordinated APs, that the first frame is to be sent to the second station device. The device may acquire, by the third AP of the set of coordinated APs, the communications channel based on a location of the third AP being outside a first operating range of the first AP or a second operating range of the first station device. The device may cause to send the first frame to the second station device on the communications channel.

Dependent claims

A device associated with a set of coordinated APs, the device comprising processing circuitry coupled to storage, the processing circuitry configured to:

acquire, by a first AP of the set of coordinated APs, a communications channel to send data to a first station device;
request, by a second AP of the set of coordinated APs, access to the communications channel to send a first frame of a dataset to a second station device;
determine, by the second AP of the set of coordinated APs, that the communications channel is busy;
determine, by a third AP of the set of coordinated APs, that the first frame is to be sent to the second station device;
acquire, by the third AP of the set of coordinated APs, the communications channel based on a location of the third AP being outside a first operating range of the first AP or a second operating range of the first station device;
and
cause to send, by the third AP, the first frame to the second station device on the communications channel.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer-executable instructions which when executed by one or more processors result in performing operations comprising:

acquiring, by a first AP of a set of coordinated APs, a communications channel to send data to a first station device;
requesting, by a second AP of the set of coordinated APs, access to the communications channel to send a first frame of a dataset to a second station device;
determining, by the second AP of the set of coordinated APs, that the communications channel is busy;
