Abstract
Embodiments of inventive concepts are provided wherein a mobile device, such as a smartphone, may transmit information to a base station, either directly or via auxiliary/slave devices, using first and second spatial polarizations, in order to increase spectral efficiency. Pre-processing at the mobile device and/or post-processing at the base station may be used to reduce cross-polarization interference.

A system comprising a master device and a processor that controls the master device to perform operations comprising:
- communicating with at least one slave device;
- requesting a processing capability from the at least one slave device;
- receiving an acknowledgement that the at least one slave device can provide said processing capability;
- and
- receiving the processing capability from the at least one slave device.
