Abstract
In various embodiments a display may allow a secondary player to select a game of an appropriate primary player.
Claims20
(canceled)
An apparatus comprising:
- at least one processor configured to control:
- receiving, over a communication network from a remote computing device of a secondary player, at least one criterion for selecting a game;
- receiving, over the communication network from a plurality of second remote computing devices, first data describing a first plurality of games;
- in response to receiving the at least one criterion, determining using the first data whether a first game of the first plurality of games matches the at least one criterion, in which the first game is to be played using a first gaming device by a first primary player;
- determining odds for wagers that a first event will occur in the first game;
- presenting, to the secondary player over the communication network through the remote computing device, the odds;
- receiving, over the communication network from the remote computing device, a first bet by the secondary player, in which the first bet includes a bet that the first event will occur during the first game and is based at least in part on the odds;
- receiving, over the communication network from a given second remote computing device of the plurality of second remote computing devices, second data indicating events in the first game;
- in response to receiving the second data and the first bet, determining whether the first event occurs during the first game;
- in response to determining whether the first event occurs during the first game, determining whether to provide a first payout to the secondary player;
- receive, from the plurality of second remote computing devices over the communication network, third data describing a second plurality of games;
- determining using the second data whether a second game to be played using the first gaming device does not match the at least one criterion;
- and
- in response to determining that the second game does not match the at least one criterion, presenting, to the secondary player over the communication network through the remote computing device, an indication that the second game does not match the at least one criterion.

The apparatus of claim 4, in which determining whether the first game matches the at least one criterion includes determining whether the first primary player has the highest net winnings.
A method comprising:
- controlling, by at least one processor of a server:
- receiving, over a communication network from a remote computing device of a secondary player, at least one criterion for selecting a game;
- receiving, over the communication network from a plurality of second remote computing devices, first data describing a first plurality of games;
- in response to receiving the at least one criterion, determining using the first data whether a first game of the first plurality of games matches the at least one criterion, in which the first game is to be played using a first gaming device by a first primary player;
- determining odds for wagers that a first event will occur in the first game;
- presenting, to the secondary player over the communication network through the remote computing device, the odds;
- receiving, over the communication network from the remote computing device, a first bet by the secondary player, in which the first bet includes a bet that the first event will occur during the first game and is based at least in part on the odds;
- receiving, over the communication network from a given second remote computing device of the plurality of second remote computing devices, second data indicating events in the first game;
- in response to receiving the second data and the first bet, determining whether the first event occurs during the first game;
- in response to determining whether the first event occurs during the first game, determining whether to provide a first payout to the secondary player;
- receive, from the plurality of second remote computing devices over the communication network, third data describing a second plurality of games;
- determining using the second data whether a second game to be played using the first gaming device does not match the at least one criterion;
- and
- in response to determining that the second game does not match the at least one criterion, presenting, to the secondary player over the communication network through the remote computing device, an indication that the second game does not match the at least one criterion.

A non-transitory storage medium configured to store instructions which, when executed by at least one processor, control:
- receiving, over a communication network from a remote computing device of a secondary player, at least one criterion for selecting a game;
- receiving, over the communication network from a plurality of second remote computing devices, first data describing a first plurality of games;
- in response to receiving the at least one criterion, determining using the first data whether a first game of the first plurality of games matches the at least one criterion, in which the first game is to be played using a first gaming device by a first primary player;
- determining odds for wagers that a first event will occur in the first game;
- presenting, to the secondary player over the communication network through the remote computing device, the odds;
- receiving, over the communication network from the remote computing device, a first bet by the secondary player, in which the first bet includes a bet that the first event will occur during the first game and is based at least in part on the odds;
- receiving, over the communication network from a given second remote computing device of the plurality of second remote computing devices, second data indicating events in the first game;
- in response to receiving the second data and the first bet, determining whether the first event occurs during the first game;
- in response to determining whether the first event occurs during the first game, determining whether to provide a first payout to the secondary player;
- receive, from the plurality of second remote computing devices over the communication network, third data describing a second plurality of games;
- determining using the second data whether a second game to be played using the first gaming device does not match the at least one criterion;
- and
- in response to determining that the second game does not match the at least one criterion, presenting, to the secondary player over the communication network through the remote computing device, an indication that the second game does not match the at least one criterion.
