Abstract
A method for processing an analyte includes: adding a plurality of amphiphilic nanoparticles to a solvent to form a mixture having a plurality of enantioselective nanoparticle ensembles; adding an analyte to the mixture; obtaining a test circular dichroism spectrum of the mixture with the analyte; and determining an enantiomeric property of the analyte based on a comparison of a baseline circular dichroism spectrum of the analyte mixture to the test circular dichroism spectrum.
Claims19
A method for processing an analyte, the method comprising:
- adding a plurality of amphiphilic nanoparticles to a solvent to form a mixture having a plurality of enantioselective nanoparticle ensembles;
- adding an analyte to the mixture to form an analyte mixture;
- obtaining a test circular dichroism spectrum of the analyte mixture;
- and
- determining an enantiomeric property of the analyte based on a comparison of a baseline circular dichroism spectrum of the mixture to the test circular dichroism spectrum of the analyte mixture.
A kit for processing an analyte, the kit comprising:
- a first reagent including a plurality of amphiphilic nanoparticles, each of the plurality of amphiphilic nanoparticles includes a metallic core having a first surface portion and a second surface portion, the first surface portion including hydrophobic ligands and the second surface portion including hydrophilic ligands;
- and
- a second reagent including a polar solvent, wherein adding the first reagent to the second reagent forms a mixture having a plurality of nanoparticle ensembles.
