Abstract
Storage for mobile devices are managed by service provider network elements. Storage may reside in the carrier core transparently as if it were residing on the mobile device. An imbedded agent may be added the mobile device, control plane network elements may be added to the carrier evolved packet core, and user plane network elements may be added to an enterprise network or edge network.

An apparatus comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- a memory coupled with the processor, the memory comprising executable instructions that when executed by the processor cause the processor to effectuate operations comprising:
- obtaining a first request, the first request comprising a storage request associated with a mobile device;
- based on the first request, sending a second request to an access database;
- responsive to sending the second request, obtaining information associated with the mobile device, wherein the information comprises an indication of a shared storage domain for the mobile device, and wherein the information comprises a permission based on location information;
- and
- based on the information associated with the mobile device, sending routing information to a plurality of network elements for subsequent storage related requests for the mobile device.
