A compound of Formula I
- wherein:
- M is Pd or Pt;
- A, B, and C are each independently a 5-membered or 6-membered carbocyclic or heterocyclic ring;
- moiety Z alone or together with L4, when present as a linker, is a fused ring structure comprising four or more fused heterocyclic or carbocyclic rings, each of which is a 5-membered ring or a 6-membered ring;
- L1, L2, L3, and L4 are each independently selected from the group consisting of a direct bond, BR, BRR′, NR, PR, O, S, Se, C═O, S═O, SO2, CRR′, SiRR′, GeRR′, alkyl, cycloalkyl, and combinations thereof;
- X1 to X6 are each independently C or N;
- Y1, Y2, Y3, and Y4 are each independently selected from the group consisting of a direct bond, O, and S;
- at least two of Y1, Y2, Y3, and Y4 are direct bonds;
- Z1 to Z4 are each independently C or N;
- m1, m2, m3, m4 are each independently an integer of 0 or 1;
- RA, RB, RC, and RZ each independently represents zero, mono, or up to a maximum allowed substitution to its associated ring;
- each of R, R′, RA, RB, RC, and RZ is independently a hydrogen or a substituent selected from the group consisting of deuterium, halogen, alkyl, cycloalkyl, heteroalkyl, heterocycloalkyl, arylalkyl, alkoxy, aryloxy, amino, silyl, boryl, alkenyl, cycloalkenyl, heteroalkenyl, alkynyl, aryl, heteroaryl, acyl, carboxylic acid, ether, ester, nitrile, isonitrile, sulfanyl, sulfinyl, sulfonyl, phosphino, and combinations thereof;
- and
- any two substituents can be joined or fused together to form a ring.
