Multi-functional additive and light stabilizer for chemical coating compositions

A light stabilizing additive for chemical coating compositions comprising:

• at least 50.0 wt. % of base resins including a polyester resin, a carboxylated polyester resin, and an epoxy resin;
• between 15.0 to 25.0 wt. % of a flow aid including polyethylene and polyester hydroxyl resins with ricinoleic acid on a silica carrier;
• between 0.1 to 2.5 wt. % of at least one ultraviolet inhibiting compound, each of said compounds being triazine-based or hindered-amine-based and each having a molecular weight between 580 and 687 g/mol;
• and
• a remainder consisting of a polyurethane curative, a primid curative, and one or more functional constituents selected from:
• a contrast agent, an anti-oxidant, an optical brightener, a hardener, an oil having a boiling point above each melting point for the polyester, carboxylated polyester, and epoxy resins, an anti-corrosion pigment, a benzotriazole-based ultraviolet stabilizer, and a tin-based catalyst.
