A method for preventing and/or treating amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, comprising administering an effective amount of a Src/c-Abl pathway inhibitor to a subject in need of the prevention and/or treatment.
A method for screening for a drug for preventing and/or treating amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, comprising contacting Src, c-Abl, a receptor tyrosine kinase that phosphorylates Src or protein kinase C with a test compound, and selecting a test compound that inhibits phosphorylation of the kinase as a candidate for a drug for preventing and/or treating amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
