The method of claim 1, wherein the subject is a subject who has been, is being, or will be, treated with chemotherapy, or has an underlying predisposition to infertility.
A method of increasing BubR1 activity in an oocyte, and/or increasing the fertilisation potential of an oocyte, comprising introducing into the oocyte an effective amount of an agent which elevates SIRT2 activity or SIRT2 expression in the oocyte.
