Abstract
Cervical collars, components thereof, and methods of using them overcome issues with conventional cervical collars.
Claims20
An anterior component of a cervical collar having a chin portion and a body portion, comprising:
- an adjustment mechanism wherein a single adjustment of the adjustment mechanism raises and lowers lateral sides of the chin portion relative to the body portion;
- wherein the adjustment mechanism raises and lowers the chin portion substantially vertically.
An anterior component of a cervical collar, comprising:
- a chin portion, a body portion, and a four bar adjustment mechanism disposed such that a single adjustment of the four bar adjustment mechanism raises and lowers both lateral sides of the chin portion relative to the body portion.
An adjustable chin piece for use with a cervical collar, comprising:
- a pair of lateral chin portions of the chin piece moveably coupled to a chin rest therebetween;
- a chin depth adjustment mechanism;
- wherein the chin depth adjustment mechanism provides substantially horizontal movement of the chin piece with respect to the pair of lateral chin portions.
An anterior component of a cervical collar having a chin portion, a body portion, and an adjustment mechanism, comprising:
- a lead screw that cooperates with a lead screw nut disposed such that a single adjustment of the adjustment mechanism raises and lowers the lateral sides of the chin portion relative to the body portion.
A cervical collar, comprising:
- an anterior component;
- a posterior component comprises a strap having sizing indicia and a back panel;
- wherein the strap has a first end and a second end;
- wherein sizing indicia is between the first end and the second end;
- wherein the strap has an alignment indicium proximate the first end;
- wherein the strap is removably coupled to the anterior component;
- wherein an alignment of the alignment indicium proximate the first end of the strap corresponds with the alignment indicium on the body portion;
- wherein the second end of the strap is removably coupled to the back panel and is coupleable to itself;
- and
- wherein an alignment of an edge of the second end of the strap corresponds to one of the sizing indicia upon coupling to itself.
An anterior component of a cervical collar, comprising:
- a one-piece cervical collar shell comprising a chin portion, a body portion, and a deforming portion therebetween.
