Abstract
A method, computer program product, and computing system for processing a data portion to divide the data portion into a plurality of data chunks; performing an entropy analysis on each of the plurality of data chunks to generate a plurality of data chunk entropies; and determining an average data chunk entropy from the plurality of data chunk entropies.
Claims21
A computer-implemented method, executed, via a hardware processor, on a computing device, comprising:
- processing a data portion to divide the data portion into a plurality of data chunks wherein each of the data chunks is a five-hundred-twelve byte block sector;
- performing an entropy analysis on each of the plurality of data chunks to generate a plurality of data chunk entropies, wherein the entropy analysis on each of the plurality of data chunks includes utilizing a Shannon entropy equation to generate the plurality of data chunk entropies;
- and
- determining an average data chunk entropy from the plurality of data chunk entropies.
A computer program product residing on a non-transitory computer readable medium having a plurality of instructions stored thereon which, when executed by a hardware processor, cause the hardware processor to perform operations comprising:
- processing a data portion to divide the data portion into a plurality of data chunks wherein each of the data chunks is a five-hundred-twelve byte block sector;
- performing an entropy analysis on each of the plurality of data chunks to generate a plurality of data chunk entropies, wherein the entropy analysis on each of the plurality of data chunks includes utilizing a Shannon entropy equation to generate the plurality of data chunk entropies;
- and
- determining an average data chunk entropy from the plurality of data chunk entropies.
A computing system comprising:
- a memory;
- and
- a hardware processor configured to
- process a data portion to divide the data portion into a plurality of data chunks wherein each of the data chunks is a five-hundred-twelve byte block sector;
- perform an entropy analysis on each of the plurality of data chunks to generate a plurality of data chunk entropies, wherein the entropy analysis on each of the plurality of data chunks includes utilizing a Shannon entropy equation to generate the plurality of data chunk entropies;
- and
- determine an average data chunk entropy from the plurality of data chunk entropies.
