Construction machine with control system configured to calculate various outputs

A method of automatically calculating a production total of a working machine, the method comprising:

• setting a scratch position for both a left edge and a right edge of a rotor by activating one or more of a first and a second vertically moveable legs and activating a milling system actuator to engage an entire length the rotor from the left edge to the right edge flush against a surface of a working area;
• sensing a first position of the left edge of the rotor relative to the surface;
• sensing a second position of the right edge of the rotor relative to the surface;
• calculating a deviation of the first position and the second position from the corresponding positions thereof during the scratch position;
• and
• determining at least a cross-sectional area of the rotor that is engaging the surface based upon the calculating the deviation.

A system comprising:

• a working machine configured to perform roadwork, comprising:
• a frame;
• a rotor coupled to the frame and configured for rotational movement relative thereto;
• a milling system actuator configured to raise and lower the rotor to selectively disengage and engage with a surface of a working area;
• and
• at least two legs coupled to the frame and configured to be vertically moveable to maintain a desired attitude of the frame and the rotor relative to the surface of the working area;
• and
• a first position sensor configured to sense a first position of a left side of the rotor relative to the surface;
• and
• a second position sensor configured to sense a second position of a right side of the rotor relative to the surface.
