Filter Housing for a Filter Device

A filter device comprising:

• a filter housing;
• a filter element arranged in the filter housing;
• the filter housing comprising an inlet housing configured to be arranged upstream of the filter element;
• wherein the inlet housing comprises an inflow opening configured to introduce a fluid to be purified into the filter housing, wherein the inlet housing comprises an overflow opening at an outlet of the inlet housing, wherein the overflow opening is configured to convey the fluid to be purified to the filter element, and wherein the inlet housing comprises an inlet channel disposed between the inflow opening and the overflow opening, wherein the inlet channel comprises an intermediately positioned channel section located between the inflow opening and the overflow opening, wherein a cross-sectional shape of the intermediately positioned channel section differs from a cross-sectional shape of the inflow opening and from a cross-sectional shape of the overflow opening.
