Abstract
A liquid nicotine formulation for generating an inhalable aerosol in an electronic cigarette comprising nicotine and oxalic acid in which there is an excess of oxalic.
Claims64
A method of delivering protonated nicotine to a user of an electronic cigarette, the method comprising:
- (a) operating an electronic cigarette comprising a liquid nicotine formulation, said liquid nicotine comprising nicotine, oxalic acid and a biologically acceptable liquid carrier;
- (b) heating said liquid nicotine formulation to an operating temperature, wherein said heating provides an inhalable aerosol comprising an effective amount of protonated nicotine;
- and
- (c) inhaling said inhalable aerosol.

A liquid nicotine formulation comprising nicotine, oxalic acid and a biologically acceptable liquid biologically compatible carrier, wherein upon heating said liquid nicotine formulation an inhalable aerosol is formed comprising an effective amount of protonated nicotine.
