Dispensing Apparatus for Dispensing Card-Shaped Data Carriers

A dispensing apparatus (100, 200, 300) for dispensing card-shaped data carriers (114, 214, 314), comprising:

• at least one coding unit (122, 222, 322) configured to encode a data carrier (114, 214, 314) with at least one data set;
• at least one detection unit (102, 202, 302) configured to detect the functionality of the encoded data carrier (114, 214, 314);
• and
• at least one sorting unit (107, 207, 307), including at least one drive means (108, 208, 308) configured to forward the data carrier (114, 214, 314),
• wherein the drive means (108, 208, 308) is configured such that the data carrier (114, 214, 314) is forwarded with a first speed upon detection of an error-free data carrier (114, 214, 314), and
• wherein the drive means (108, 208, 308) is configured such that the data carrier (114, 214, 314) is forwarded with a second speed upon detection of a defective data carrier (114, 214, 314), and
• wherein the first speed is different from the second speed.
