Electronic Devices Having Multi-Band Satellite Navigation Capabilities

An electronic device comprising:

• an antenna ground;
• peripheral conductive housing structures having a first segment separated from the antenna ground by a first slot and having a second segment separated from the antenna ground by a second slot;
• a first antenna having a first antenna feed coupled to the first segment and the antenna ground across the first slot, wherein the first antenna is configured to receive first satellite navigation signals in a first frequency band;
• a second antenna having a second antenna feed coupled to the second segment and the antenna ground across the second slot, wherein the second antenna is configured to receive second satellite navigation signals in a second frequency band at higher frequencies than the first frequency band;
• and
• control circuitry configured to identify a geographic location of the electronic device based on the received first and second satellite navigation signals.

A cellular telephone comprising:

• a first antenna configured to receive first radio-frequency signals in an L5 frequency band;
• a second antenna configured to receive second radio-frequency signals in an L1 frequency band;
• and
• control circuitry configured to identify a geographic location of the cellular telephone using the received first and second radio-frequency signals.
