Abstract
The present disclosure is directed to the dynamic selection and autonomous re-deployment of software-defined radio in wireless infrastructure. In some embodiments, the present disclosure is directed to a deployment manager that facilitates the dynamic selection and re-deployment of edge applications, e.g., in WAP infrastructure which the deployment are based on a pre-defined policy (e.g., Quality-of-Service (QoS), Quality of Experience policies (QoE), etc.).

A system comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- a memory having instructions stored thereon, wherein execution of the instructions by the processor, cause the processor to:
- in a network, obtain one or more end-point and access-point information associated with one or more end-point computing devices connected to a plurality of access points, wherein at least one of the one or more end-point information includes an identifier associated with an end-point function of each end-point computing device;
- obtain, from the network, one or more policies each associated with deployment of containerized applications at access points in the network;
- select a first access point of the plurality of access points based on a policy of the one or more policies to execute a containerized application deployment of a plurality of containerized application deployments, wherein the selection comprises a match of criteria of the policy to at least the end-point function, wherein the containerized application deployment comprises one or more gateway interfaces and one or more associated edge computing gateway applications to interface with a plurality of end-point computing devices based on the obtained one or more end-point information;
- direct the first access point to execute the containerized application deployment to provide access in the network for the one or more end-point computing devices;
- select a second access point of the plurality of access points based on the policy to execute the containerized application deployment, wherein the selection comprises a match of criteria of the policy to at least the end-point function;
- direct the second access point to execute the containerized application deployment to provide access in the network for the one or more end-point computing devices;
- and
- direct the first access point to remove the containerized application deployment.
A non-transitory computer readable medium comprising instructions, wherein execution of the instructions by a processor, cause the processor to:
- in a network, obtain one or more end-point and access-point information associated with one or more end-point computing devices connected to a plurality of access points, wherein at least one of the one or more end-point information includes an identifier associated with an end-point function of each end-point computing device;
- obtain, from the network, one or more policies each associated with deployment of containerized applications at access points in the network;
- select a first access point of the plurality of access points based on a policy of the one or more policies to execute a containerized application deployment of a plurality of containerized application deployments, wherein the selection comprises a match of criteria of the policy to at least the end-point function, wherein the containerized application deployment comprises one or more gateway interfaces and one or more associated edge computing gateway applications to interface with a plurality of end-point computing devices based on the obtained one or more end-point information;
- direct the first access point to execute the containerized application deployment to provide access in the network for the one or more end-point computing devices;
- select a second access point of the plurality of access points based on the policy to execute the containerized application deployment, wherein the selection comprises a match of criteria of the policy to at least the end-point function;
- direct the second access point to execute the containerized application deployment to provide access in the network for the one or more end-point computing devices;
- and
- direct the first access point to remove the containerized application deployment.
A method comprising:
- in a network, obtaining, by a processor, one or more end-point and access-point information associated with one or more end-point computing devices connected to a plurality of access points, wherein at least one of the one or more end-point information includes an identifier associated with an end-point function of each end-point computing device;
- obtaining, by the processor, one or more policies each associated with deployment of containerized applications at access points in the network from the network;
- selecting, by the processor, a first access point of the plurality of access points based on a policy of the one or more policies to execute a containerized application deployment of a plurality of containerized application deployment, wherein the selection comprises a match of criteria of the policy to at least the end-point function, wherein the containerized application deployment comprises one or more gateway interfaces and one or more associated edge computing gateway applications to interface with a plurality of end-point computing devices based on the obtained one or more end-point information;
- direct, by the processor, the first access point to execute the containerized application deployment to provide access in the network for the one or more end-point computing devices;
- selecting, by the processor, a second access point of the plurality of access points based on the policy to execute the containerized application deployment, wherein the selection comprises a match of criteria of the policy to at least the end-point function;
- direct, by the processor, the second access point to execute the containerized application deployment to provide access in the network for the one or more end-point computing devices;
- and
- direct, by the processor, the first access point to remove the containerized application deployment.
