Electrophotographic photosensitive member, process cartridge, and image forming apparatus

An electrophotographic photosensitive member comprising:

• a conductive substrate;
• and
• a photosensitive layer, wherein
• the photosensitive layer includes at least a charge generating material, a hole transport material, and a binder resin,
• the hole transport material includes a compound represented by a general formula (1), and
• the binder resin includes a polyarylate resin having at least one repeating unit represented by a general formula (10) and at least one repeating unit represented by a general formula (11), or
• the binder resin includes a polycarbonate resin having a repeating unit represented by a general formula (20) and a repeating unit represented by general formula (21),
• where in the general formula (1),
• R1 and R2 each represent, independently of each other, a hydrogen atom, a methyl group, or an ethyl group, and a sum of the carbon number of a group represented by R1 and the carbon number of a group represented by R2 is 2, and
• R3 and R4 each represent, independently of each other, a hydrogen atom, a methyl group, or an ethyl group, and the sum of the carbon number of a group represented by R3 and the carbon number of a group represented by R4 is 2,
• where in the general formula (10), R11 and R12 each represent, independently of each other, an alkyl group having a carbon number of at least 1 and no greater than 3, and W represents a divalent group represented by general formula (W1), general formula (W2), or chemical formula (W3), and
• in the general formula (11), X represents a divalent group represented by chemical formula (X1), chemical formula (X2), or chemical formula (X3),
• where in the general formula (W1), R13 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having a carbon number of at least 1 and no greater than 4, and R14 represents an alkyl group having a carbon number of at least 1 and no greater than 4, and
• in the general formula (W2), t represents an integer of at least land no greater than 3,
• where in the general formulas (20) and (21),
• Q1 and Q2 each represent a hydrogen atom, and Q3 and Q4 each represent, independently of each other, an alkyl group having a carbon number of at least 1 and no greater than 6, or
• Q1 and Q2 each represent, independently of each other, an alkyl group having a carbon number of at least 1 and no greater than 6, and Q3 and Q4 each represent a hydrogen atom.
