Abstract
A label having a silicone-free (water-based) release coating and compatible adhesive patch is provided. The label includes a thermally coated substrate having a silicone-free substrate overlaid thereon of a first surface. A second surface includes a microsphere adhesive layer.

A label comprising:
- a substrate;
- and
- a water-based release coating applied to a first surface of the substrate, wherein the water-based release coating comprising a fluorochemical component;
- and
- a low-tack microsphere adhesive applied to a second surface of the substrate.

- a substrate;
- a first surface of the substrate comprising a water-based release coating, wherein the water-based release coating comprising a fluorochemical component;
- and
- a second surface of the substrate comprising adhesive patches of a water-based microsphere adhesive;
- wherein the web is wound into a roll of individual labels.
