Abstract
In accordance with an embodiment, an image forming apparatus comprises a near field communicator configured to communicate with a terminal using a near field wireless communication; and a processor configured to set a first communication mode to be used for authentication of the terminal as a communication mode of the near field communicator, and change the communication mode from the first communication mode to a second communication mode different from the first communication mode in response to the success in the authentication of the terminal.
Claims20
An information processing apparatus, comprising:
- a memory;
- a processor that executes programs stored in the memory;
- and
- a near field communicator configured to communicate with a terminal using a near field wireless communication;
- wherein the processor is configured to set a first communication mode to be used for authentication of the terminal as a communication mode of the near field communicator, and change the communication mode from the first communication mode to a second communication mode, different from the first communication mode, in response to a successful authentication of the terminal, and wherein the authentication relates to an authority level associated with usage of the information processing apparatus by the terminal.
An image forming apparatus, comprising:
- a memory;
- a processor that executes programs stored in the memory;
- and
- a near field communicator configured to communicate with a terminal using a near field wireless communication,
- wherein the processor is configured to set a first communication mode to be used for authentication of the terminal as a communication mode of the near field communicator, and change the communication mode from the first communication mode to a second communication mode, different from the first communication mode, in response to successful authentication of the terminal, and wherein the authentication relates to an authority level associated with usage of the information processing apparatus by the terminal.
A communication mode setting method, comprising:
- setting a first communication mode to be used for authentication of a terminal as a communication mode of a near field communicator that communicates with the terminal using a near field wireless communication;
- and
- changing the communication mode from the first communication mode to a second communication mode, different from the first communication mode, based on a successful authentication of the terminal, wherein the authentication relates to an authority level associated with usage of an information processing apparatus by the terminal.
