Abstract
A first multitude of intraoral images of a first portion of a three-dimensional intraoral object are received. A pre-existing model that corresponds to the three-dimensional intraoral object is identified. A first intraoral image of the first multitude of intraoral images is registered to a first portion of the pre-existing model. A second intraoral image of the first multitude of intraoral images is registered to a second portion of the pre-existing model.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- receiving, by a processing device, a first plurality of intraoral images of a first portion of a three-dimensional intraoral object;
- identifying a pre-existing model that corresponds to the three-dimensional intraoral object;
- registering a first intraoral image of the first plurality of intraoral images to a first portion of the pre-existing model;
- and
- registering a second intraoral image of the first plurality of intraoral images to a second portion of the pre-existing model.

A method comprising:
- receiving, by a processing device, a plurality of optical images of a first portion of a three-dimensional intraoral object;
- identifying a pre-existing model that corresponds to the three-dimensional intraoral object;
- registering the plurality of optical images together using the pre-existing model;
- and
- generating a virtual model of the three-dimensional intraoral object based on registering the plurality of optical images together using the pre-existing model.
