One Click Application Asset Distribution

One or more non-transitory, computer-readable storage devices storing instructions executable by one or more processing devices to perform operations comprising:

• receiving, at a second device, a request for data sharing from a first device via a local communication link between the first device and the second device;
• receiving, from the first device, a first file package associated with an application installed on the first device, wherein the file package includes a first portion of information usable for installation of the application on the second device;
• processing the first file package to obtain the first portion of information usable for installing the application on the second device;
• providing, to a remote computer device different from the first device, authentication information for downloading a second file package, the second file package being supplementary to the first file package for installing the application on the second device;
• receiving from the remote computing device responsive to providing the authentication information, the second file package, wherein a size of the second file package is smaller than a file package that is independently usable for installing the application on the second device;
• processing the second file package to obtain a second portion of information usable for installing the application on the second device;
• and
• installing the application on the second device using the first portion of information and the second portion of information.

A mobile device comprising:

• a wireless communication interface configured to receive a request for data sharing from a first device via a local communication link between the mobile device and a different, first device;
• memory;
• and
• one or more processing devices interoperably connected to the wireless communication interface and the memory, the one or more processing devices configured to:
• receive, from the first device, a first file package associated with an application installed on the first device, wherein the file package includes a first portion of information usable for installation of the application on the mobile device;
• process the first file package to obtain the first portion of information usable for installing the application on the mobile device;
• provide, to a remote computer device different from the first device, authentication information for downloading a second file package, the second file package being supplementary to the first file package for installing the application on the mobile device;
• receive from the remote computing device responsive to providing the authentication information, the second file package, wherein a size of the second file package is smaller than a file package that is independently usable for installing the application on the mobile device;
• process the second file package to obtain a second portion of information usable for installing the application on the mobile device;
• and
• install the application on the mobile device using the first portion of information and the second portion of information.
